The Bible. Books of the Holy Scriptures of the Old and New Testament

In this edition, the text of the Synodal translation of 1876 is compared with the Hebrew text of the Old Testament and the Greek text of the New Testament to eliminate inaccuracies that occurred during the preparation of previous editions of the canonical Russian Bible.
Words added by the translators "for clarity and coherence" are italicized.
In the text of the Old Testament, words taken by the authors of the Synodal translation from the Septuagint (Greek Bible) are enclosed in square brackets. In this edition, these insertions from the Greek Bible are retained only where, in the opinion of modern textual criticism, the Greek text may be closer to the original than the Hebrew text that has come down to us.
In the text of the New Testament, words taken from the Slavic translation or later Greek manuscripts are enclosed in square brackets.
The edition is accompanied by a Dictionary of borrowed, rare, and outdated words, thus some of the footnotes from previous editions have been considered unnecessary and have been omitted.
