Oh, boy!

Marie-Od Muray is one of the most remarkable French authors of youth literature. Neither the writer herself nor her works - serious, disturbing, and at the same time human and laugh-out-loud funny - can be called politically correct. In the novel for teenagers "Oh, boy!" through the story of three children who are left orphaned, Marie-Od Muray skillfully and humorously touches on several topics that are not commonly discussed - orphanhood, the serious illness of a loved one, homosexuality, and the relationship between responsibility and growing up. In 2010, Natalia Shakhovskaya was awarded the "Master" prize by the Guild of "Masters of Literary Translation" for her translation of "Oh, boy!".
