Differentiating Letters: Prevention and Correction of Optical Dysgraphia

The collection presents tasks of varying difficulty for the prevention and correction of optical dysgraphia in children aged 6 to 12 years. Such disorders are associated with the underdevelopment of visual-spatial representations in children, and a lack of clear understanding of the visual images of letters; therefore, children with this writing disorder do not notice "small" differences between them and make frequent mistakes. For example, in the word "cheek," they will find it difficult to read the first letter: "sh," "shch," or "ts." The exercises are structured sequentially: from developing visual-spatial representations to writing letters correctly. During the sessions, up to 400 different types of tasks for the prevention and correction of dysgraphia can be completed. It is intended for group and/or individual, oral and/or written work. It is addressed to speech therapists, elementary school teachers, and parents of children with predispositions to dysgraphia or persistent writing disorders of optical and kinetic similarity.
