The editing process took into account numerous Old Testament quotes and references included in the New Testament, as well as the stylistic uniqueness of the Old Testament. Special attention during the translation and editing was given to conveying the correct meaning of each passage. After the release of the "New Translation into Russian" in 2007, many comments and suggestions were submitted for consideration by revision editors. Many changes and corrections were made in this version of the translation, the work on which was completed in December 2012. A distinguishing feature of this translation was the desire to maintain a phrasing closest to the original language in Russian and to use a modern and understandable language for most current readers. The text of the translation also had to possess excellent literary quality so that it could be used in worship services, educational institutions, and for individual reading. Moreover, the team of translators and editors strived to maintain the continuity of the traditions of Bible translation into Russian.
