The album includes two stories: "Guest from the Mesozoic" and "Horror at the End of the Line".
In the first story, Count de Champignac, an indefatigable explorer and brilliant scientist, discovers a dinosaur egg from the late Jurassic period of the...
Mesozoic era in the ice of Antarctica. With all precautions, the count brings the priceless find home. In his laboratory, he intends to thaw the egg from deep freeze and, by slow warming, bring it back to life, and then place it in an incubator, where a living Plateosaurus is supposed to hatch from the egg. Indeed, the count and his fellow scientists, who have come from different countries, witness the incredible event - the birth of a dinosaur. However, due to a fateful turn of events, the little one grows to gigantic proportions overnight. The prehistoric giant leaves the count's estate and heads to the city, smashing everything in its path. The city authorities panic, the military scramble planes and call in tanks. Against the backdrop of all this chaos, Spirou devises a genius plan to isolate the dinosaur while preserving it for science and making it beneficial to society.
In the second story, Count de Champignac accidentally drinks a harmful sediment instead of coffee, under the influence of which even the most balanced person loses control. That's exactly what happens: the harmless scientist turns into a creature from hell. Spirou and Fantasio urgently summon the count's colleague, a biologist, who must prepare an antidote. They also have to defuse a bomb that the count managed to plant and help the biologist administer the life-saving medicine to the count.
The spirited boy Spirou in a bright red grooming suit, who first appeared on the cover of the eponymous magazine in 1938, is a true legend of the Franco-Belgian comic. For 85 years, along with his friend, the tireless journalist Fantasio, and his loyal companion, a clever squirrel named Spip, he has been traveling the world, making thousands of amazing discoveries. The series of his adventures comprises over 50 volumes, and the opportunity to draw at least one story about Spirou is an honor for the best comic artists in Europe. A major event in Spirou's fate was his meeting with André Franquin (1924-1997). The talented artist worked on the series for almost a quarter of a century. For the first time in Russian, eight of Franquin's best albums are being published, including "Spirou and the Heirs", "The Moray Eel's Den", "Rhino's Horn", "Bad Head", "Gorilla in the Mist".
