«I want to be both Mozart and Michael Jackson at the same time» — this seemingly unserious phrase aptly captures the spirit of the Captain. Sergey Kuryokhin — composer, showman, sorcerer, and… writer. Kuryokhin revitalized the Leningrad rock scene by... playing in the most famous bands and created his version of total theatre — «Pop Mechanics», where renowned musicians, actors, hairdressers, and animals participated on equal footing. But even then, Kuryokhin felt constrained within a single art form, and he tried his hand at cinema and television. Thus, the scandalous episode of the show «Fifth Wheel» appeared — «Lenin-Mushroom», which later became a meme. The texts written by Kuryokhin remain in the shadow of his other legacy, but they are no less interesting and certainly reveal another facet of the Captain, who lived a short and vivid life.
