The grown-up... hero Dmitry Garichev writes a letter to his deceased childhood friend, recalling their shared experiences living in a gloomy settlement in the Moscow region. The era of the late 1990s - early 2000s, still not fully understood in modern Russian literature, becomes the main space and character of the narrative. First love experiences, teenage fears, trips on night trains... The reality in which all this took place is no more, just as the friend-recipient is no longer alive, but the narrator stubbornly resurrects them in memory to answer the question for himself: where do these memories lead - to paradise or hell?
