Sasha Filipenko, as always (read "Former Son", "Concepts", "Red Cross", "Return to Ostrog", "Cremlinator"), is relevant, observant, witty, and — concise. He has once again managed to pack a full-length thriller novel into a small book. Of course, there is... the skill of a television scriptwriter from Channel One and "Rain", but there is also something else: the characters of Sasha Filipenko are his peers and contemporaries. Musicians, football players, journalists, political technologists... They were unfortunate with the era. They keenly feel the fleeting youth, perhaps that is why their dialogues are so fragmentary and encoded, and their love does not imply continuation. "Hunting" is a story about how cynicism and irony are not a universal armor. And that the attempt to slip between conscience and treachery can end with an SMS on the phone screen: "On выбросил ребенка из окна (((...".
