Two works included in this book organically complement each other, as they examine different, yet mutually overlapping themes: information about the customs and morals of the ancient Slavs from foreign sources of the same time and attempts to understand the role and status of women among Slavic pagans and Slavs who embraced Christianity. Thus, a broad picture of traditions, beliefs, legislative provisions, in other words, everything that defined people's lives for centuries unfolds before the reader.
