Sri Chaitanya Bhagavata. The Deeds of Sri Chaitanya

The poem "Sri Chaitanya Bhagavata" is a true masterpiece of religious thought and world literature. It tells about the life and teachings of Sri Chaitanya Mahaprabhu – the preacher of pure love for God, who brought a true revolution in the spiritual life of India. Chaitanya Mahaprabhu is revered by his followers as the Supreme Personality of Godhead.

The author of the poem, Srila Vrindavan Das Thakur, was a contemporary of Sri Chaitanya and a disciple of his closest associate Nityananda Prabhu.

The poem celebrates the first half of Mahaprabhu's life and consists of three parts: "Adi-khanda", "Madhya-khanda", and "Antya-khanda". This edition represents the first part of the poem.

The book contains the original Bengali text, transliteration (in italics), a translation into Russian (in bold), and comments by Srila Bhaktisiddhanta Sarasvati Thakur – a great thinker, preacher of Vaishnavism, and religious reformer of the 19th century.

The basis of the translation is the first edition of the book published by Sri Chaitanya Gaudiya Math in 1987.
