The first edition of this book was published for the 300th anniversary of the House of Romanov in 1912. The text was prepared by Ivan Nikolayevich Bozheryanov (1852—1919) — a renowned historian and writer, biographer, and prominent publicist of his time. The book presents the history of the imperial family, starting from the election of the first representative of the dynasty, Mikhail Feodorovich Romanov, to the reign of the last emperor, Nikolai II.
