Enamel Badge - Gogland Northern Lighthouse

The enamel metal badge from the "Lighthouses" series will add a touch of uniqueness to your appearance. The Gogland Northern Lighthouse is one of the first lighthouses in Russia, founded in 1723. It is located on a high cliff in the northern part of Gogland Island. The current lighthouse tower was built in 1965 according to a standard design made of cast iron sections. From the lantern structure of the lighthouse, binoculars can be used to see the territory of two neighboring countries – the outlines of Cape Kunda (Estonia) and the skerries around the city of Kotka (Finland). The lighthouse is maintained by a crew led by the oldest lighthouse keeper in the Baltic – Nikolai Tikhonovich Makarenkov.
