In the early 1980s, a diving resort opened on the Sudanese coast of the Red Sea, organized by some European businessmen with the full approval and support of the Sudanese authorities. Neither the officials nor the guests of the resort had any idea that the settlement was a base for secret agents of the Mossad, the Israeli intelligence service. During the day, they entertained tourists, while under the cover of night they sent hundreds of Ethiopian Jews to Israel. The resort of Arus became part of a large-scale operation involving the Israeli Navy and Air Force. Constantly risking their freedom and lives, the agents operated right under the noses of the Sudanese police, army, and vigilant citizens. But the task of escorting the 'lost tribe' was more important than the risk.
