Ancient Japanese. Ancestors of Legendary Samurai

Archaeological studies of kyōkemyōdins (shell mounds), burial mounds, and analysis of ancient Japanese chronicles allow us to reconstruct the structure and life of Japanese society during the Jomon and Yayoi periods. The book introduces crafts and architecture, beliefs and rituals of the ancient Japanese, and presents a plethora of emperors from the pre-Buddhist period and a pantheon of gods led by the sun goddess Amaterasu.
