The 144 examples presented will help students better master the main themes of the... second year of training: pins and pin defenses, combinations and traps in the opening, breakthrough and bare king, distraction and overload, discovered attack, linear checkmate, two mighty bishops, dangerous passed pawns and pawn endgame, combinations for stalemate and perpetual check. Within each theme, examples are arranged on each separate page in increasing order of difficulty. Answers to all tasks are provided at the end of the collection.
