Book by Professor E.V. Anichkova, devoted to the study of the written evidence that has reached us about East Slavic paganism, is not just a classic work. First published in 1914, it laid the scientific foundations for the study of Slavic paganism using the comparative historical method. There is hardly a study on this topic, the author of which would not, in one way or another, refer to the work of a scientist. Despite the seriousness of the approach and difficult material, it is still relevant today and read with great interest.
