Memories. Letters about Goodness

Dmitry Sergeyevich Likhachyov (1906-1999) - a scholar of the world, an outstanding literary critic and cultural historian, who experienced many trials of the 20th century. Witnessing cruelty, suffering, and death, Dmitry Sergeyevich did not lose faith in humanity, in its spirituality and morality. "Memories" by D. S. Likhachyov is a tale of time, of events from past years, but above all - about the people he met along the way, about "whom perhaps no one else will ever remember, about whom the documents lie".

The book also includes "Letters about Goodness" - a message from a great scholar and wise man to young readers: how to be kind, how to see beauty in the world around us and in ourselves, how to live a life of dignity. Presenting the simplest arguments, Dmitry Sergeyevich explains that "following the path of goodness is the most acceptable and the only path for a human being".

The edition is illustrated with photographs and drawings by Dmitry Sergeyevich from the "Novgorod Album". The photo afterword contains materials from the family archive of D. S. Likhachyov.
