The Unholy Ones

The world we know has changed forever — climate crises, power outages, and wars over water have practically wiped out the flora and fauna, which has now degenerated into dangerous, grotesque forms. Some surviving women find refuge in an abandoned... monastery, taken in by a religious sect. The main character writes a diary, secretly, under the cover of night, using poisonous berries, charcoal, or blood as ink. She wants whoever finds her writings to know what has happened behind these walls: torture, sacrifices, and cruel ceremonies presented as a path to salvation. All this is guided by the sister superior, above whom in the hierarchy is only "He," a mysterious figure who governs everything from the shadows. The novel immerses the reader in a dark reality where a dark dictatorship of a deceitful and cruel god reigns, which can only be broken by rediscovering long-forgotten feelings — compassion and trust in one's neighbors.
