New Evil. Features of Violent Crimes and the Motivations of Those Who Commit Them

The diversity of forms of evil behind serious crimes goes beyond our understanding. The first step in making sense of all this is the process of qualification. The authors of the book divided the motives for murders and other serious crimes into 22 clearly defined gradations, ranging from the least evil (murder in self-defense) to the most extreme (murder resulting from torture). To better clarify the differences between the categories on the scale, the book provides very detailed accounts of cases of various individuals categorized in each of them. This approach gives the reader the tools to analyze the motives underlying violent crimes, thereby helping to grasp the unimaginable a little better.
