Working in the Main Artillery Administration, having access to the richest collections and archives of the Artillery Museum (St. Petersburg), Fyodorov created this classic work in 1905. The book provides a detailed description of both offensive weapons used by cavalry (sabers, shashkas, rapiers, palashes, pikes), artillery (backswords, sabers), infantry (backswords, bayonets), as well as defensive weapons (helmets, cuirasses, various shields). The author's drawings and sketches from the 1905 edition are supplemented with color photographs of cold weapon samples, works of classical battle painting. The book is addressed to everyone interested in the history of weapons.
