"The Lord of the Rings" — a cooperative game inspired by the fantasy style of J.R.R. Tolkien, offers to fight against the forces of Darkness in 14 proposed adventures. At the beginning of the game, each player chooses their character with unique characteristics: Bilbo, Aragorn, Legolas, Gimli, Elena, and Beravor, and defines their role: leader, defender, hunter, ranger, rogue, or bard, and equips them with starting gear. The further development of the game is coordinated by the electronic assistant app Journeys in Middle-earth, which determines the plot, forms the game board, issues tasks for completion, controls enemies, assists in battles, and keeps track of current results. The app makes the game as immersive and engaging as possible. You can download the digital app Journeys in Middle-earth from the App Store, Google Play store, Amazon Appstore, or Steam.
Each game consists of rounds, which are divided into 3 phases. In the Action phase, players move on the map, plan, and make initial attacks. In the Darkness Action phase, ominous events occur, and players are tested for resilience in their attempts to resist the forces of Darkness. The Gathering phase involves updating decks with new cards.
The game is cooperative, so players win or lose together. The game ends in victory for the players if they manage to complete all tasks before the threat meter fills up.
