Islanders

Eleven-year-old Jake's life is turned upside down: his dad was injured in Afghanistan, and his mom is leaving to care for him. This means that Jake will spend the summer on the tiny island of Dewis with his grandmother. The island turns out to be a nature reserve, far from civilization: there are no cars, paved roads, restaurants, and even shops. Worse yet — his grandmother doesn't like television and the internet. On the island, Jake is left without a phone, video games, and friends. It seems that this will be the worst summer of his life!.. However, on the island, he meets other kids — Mason and Louie. Together, they set off in search of adventures and share family secrets along the way.
