Since ancient times, Earth has been a marketplace for representatives of other worlds. Seven Great Trading Houses established their representations here to sell and buy technologies and resources. Thus, the Exchange was born. Chosen individuals became Guardians of the Exchange.... Semen Ardoff, deputy director of the Security Service of the Exchange, finds himself involved in a large, multi-step scheme orchestrated by the trading houses. And now he is no longer an operative, but a fugitive criminal accused of murdering an alien. He is hunted by mercenaries of the great trading houses, his own office, and modifiers—perfect killers.
