The literary fairy tale is a very personal genre. It acquired intimate features in the mid-nineteenth and early twentieth centuries. At first, they were told to acquaintances or one's own children and only later published. This is also how it... happened with Peter Pan. The closest relationship was formed between James Matthew Barrie and the Davies family. He was in love with Mrs. Davies his whole life, disliked her husband, and adored the children. The Davies had five children, all boys, and Peter Pan emerged as their collective portrait. Mr. and Mrs. Davies died very early, Barrie adopted their children, and they indeed became his family. Therefore, the stories about Peter Pan are literally family tales. We present to readers the original text of the work in its original language, accompanied by comments and a dictionary. The book is intended for high school students in language schools, students of language universities, and anyone interested in classical English literature.
