Novellen = Novellas

The book is organized on the principle of bilingualism: the works are published in the original language, with minor reductions of the author's text, alongside a parallel translation into Russian.
At the center of the plots presented in the book's works... is the drama of a person living in their own world, consumed by a fiery passion. The encounter with reality, embodied in both novellas by the First World War, destroys the fragile, illusory lives of the heroes. Their loved ones try to save them but often only ruin them, as in the "Invisible Collection." Either the hero is unable to oppose the relentless millstones of history, from which he not only does not try to protect himself but is even unaware of their existence ("Mendel the Bookseller").
Studying a foreign language through the method of parallel reading helps not only to significantly expand vocabulary but also to effectively work on mastering grammatical structures and speech turns.
