Novellen = Novellas

The book is organized on the principle of a bilingual: the works are published in the original language, with minor reductions of the author's text, with a parallel translation into Russian.
At the center of the plots presented in the book's... works is the drama of a person living in their own world, obsessed with a fiery passion. The collision with reality, embodied in both novellas by the First World War, destroys the fragile, illusory life of the heroes. Their loved ones try to save them, but often only ruin them, as in "The Invisible Collection." Either the hero is unable to oppose the relentless millstones of history, from which they not only do not try to protect themselves but are also unaware of their existence ("Mendel the Bookseller").
Learning a foreign language through the method of parallel reading helps not only to significantly expand vocabulary but also to effectively work on mastering grammatical structures and speech turns.
