Dubrovsky. The Tales of Belkin

The book includes two outstanding works by Alexander Sergeyevich Pushkin (1799-1837): the novel "Dubrovsky" and "The Tales of Belkin". 
The main character of the novel "Dubrovsky" (1833) is Vladimir Dubrovsky - a noble robber. Fate compelled him to take a criminal path: he was unjustly convicted by the authorities for arson and murder. Dubrovsky longs to take revenge on his enemy - the eccentric landowner Kirill Troekurov, who drove his father to death and gave false testimony against Dubrovsky in court. Vladimir gets hired in Troekurov's house under the guise of a governess. However, his plans are not destined to come true: unexpectedly, he falls in love with Troekurov's daughter - Masha…
"The Tales of the deceased Ivan Petrovich Belkin" (1831) consist of 5 tales: "The Shot", "The Snowstorm", "The Undertaker", "The Stationmaster" and "The Landlady Peasant Girl". All of them are examples of various literary styles: there is realism, sentimentality, gothic tale, and even vaudeville. "The Tales of Belkin" is a unique work of Russian literature of the 19th century, opening new horizons for creative development for many famous writers.
