The new book by Mylene Maelinhon and Liri Kavvira - Noti Medievali, talks about medieval graphic magic, in particular, Icelandic runes and authorial magical graphics of the later period of European Middle Ages. The first part of the book provides an authorial investigation and a flowing reading of the most interesting alphabets of Iceland - runes and letters found in ancient grimoires, healing runes for people and animals from healers and shamans, letters and runes of love magic and influence on probabilities, divinatory runes, unique letters of candle magic and other sequences taken from primary sources. The second section of the book is dedicated to the studies of medieval graphics of Europe conducted on the grimoires of Abbot Trithemius and other ancient manuscripts. The letters of Charlemagne, the alphabets of alchemists and pagan priests, authorial alphabets of the Middle Ages, and much more. All of this is presented exclusively in a practical aspect: the meanings of letters and runes, detailed descriptions of their workings, side effects, work with various media and mixtures of graphics, correct wording and activations. The second part of the book gathers the most interesting author blogs dedicated to urgent and controversial aspects of magical work for beginners - division of magical spheres, initiation, work with higher powers, training in magical vision, and many other highly relevant topics. The entire book, following an established tradition, is written in a simple, clear language, with humor and without pompous speeches. Noti Medievali is a unique work in its own right: the decoding and adaptation of these ancient alphabets, presented for the readers' attention, is undertaken by runologists for the first time. Nevertheless, the masterful presentation of seemingly complex material is a sure premise that Noti Medievali will become a staple book for a wide range of practitioners - both experienced and beginners.
