Lords of Vaala. Dragonbond

"Lords of Vaala. Dragonbond" is an asymmetric strategic game for up to four players, set in the Dragonbond universe. Here you fight, hire inhabitants, and capture regions to earn power tokens. The game has two sides: the valiant Generals, commanding armies, and the mighty Dragons, sowing chaos from the skies. But the main intrigue is not in the eternal rivalry. The fate of the game is decided by the alliance: if a General and a Dragon establish a Bond, their combined power becomes truly devastating. Do you want to rule solo or share power with one of the powerful beings?

How to play?

Each round consists of three phases. First is planning. A common action deck is formed in the center of the table. Players take turns placing cards from their hand face down, thereby deciding what events will occur in this round. Then comes the resolution phase: the deck is flipped, and the cards are played from top to bottom:

• Event cards trigger and are discarded
• Action cards allow activating the glyphs indicated on them, if such are present on the player's board. For example, you can start a battle, move across the field, cast a spell, and so on
• Region cards trigger effects on the field: building cities, improving, or placing units

If after the General's turn the General and Dragon end up in the same region, it's the moment of truth. Both players roll a die, and depending on the results, they may establish a Bond. In case of failure, the die can be re-rolled for power – if, of course, it is in your interest to partner with another player. If the Bond is established, the General and Dragon become allies, and the players controlling them now win together.

The round ends with the cleanup phase. Players return action cards to their hands, Generals draw cards for controlled regions, and a number of inhabitants are refreshed to six face-up cards. If the event deck is empty – the game ends, otherwise a new round begins.

Who won?

The player who has gained 10 power tokens, as well as their linked ally (if any), wins.
