Undoubtedly, Hannibal Lecter is a maniac, but he is also a philosopher and a brilliant psychiatrist. He suffers from boredom and a lack of "interesting" books in the prison library.
Having hit a dead end in the investigation of a serial killer known as the Red Dragon, the FBI turns to Dr. Lecter. For only a maniac can understand a maniac. And Hannibal Lecter accepts the offer. It is important for him to prove that he is smarter than the criminal the FBI is hunting.
