On the continent, four kingdoms coexist: the elven Avalkina, the war-torn Elsinoor, the prosperous Kessarian Khanate, and the warlike Kildengard. Young aristocrat Astoria is accustomed to the glitter of capital balls and is preparing to become the wife of the king's nephew. But when her magic goes out of control, instead of the secular Kildengard and the royal wedding, she faces a journey to the mysterious City of a Thousand Caves.

Built many years ago by demons, this underground oasis has become a refuge for mages who have lost control of their gift. The strongest of this world send wayward offspring here, who battle against the evil breaking through from the darkness. In the Academy, the girl will meet mentalists, whose power causes pain with any contact, a mysterious vampire rector, a princess of ice dragons, and a childhood friend whose death Astoria has mourned for five long years. And also with the cynical dean Raiden and those who found no place in high society.

Under the dark vaults of Seigard Academy, Astoria finds herself at the epicenter of an impending war between the kingdoms. And only here, among outcasts and monsters, does a power begin to form that can change the course of history. But to wield it, Astoria will have to betray everything she believed in.
