Preparing Children with Emotional-Volitional Disorders for School

The book describes how to prepare children with developmental features of the emotional-volitional sphere, caused by autism spectrum disorders, sensory integration disorders, ADHD, multiple developmental disorders, and others, for school. Without special training, such children cannot establish relationships with other children and adults, and they find it difficult to accept the rules of school life. The environmental approach developed at the Center for Therapeutic Pedagogy allows children with communication disorders to progress from individual lessons to full participation in group life and, subsequently, in the school class.
The book details the stages of integrating children into a group; it explains what activities constitute the day; it presents the general principles for structuring activities that enable the gradual inclusion of children with behavioral problems into sufficiently diverse environments - lessons, recess, music classes, etc. Great attention is given to the difficulties that arise during the work process and ways to overcome them.
