The Pharmacist's Monologue. Volume 1

Young herbalist Maomao lives a quiet and poor life until one day she is kidnapped to be sold to the palace of imperial concubines. Since then, she works day by day as a lowly maid in the inner palace, waiting painfully for the expiration of her predetermined term. To her misfortune, Maomao notices that someone is harming the children of the concubines and saves a little princess. Thus, she becomes the personal maid of a high-ranking concubine favored by the emperor himself. It seemed like she was destined for a coveted fate, but in her new place, Maomao is not left in peace: someone is dealing with the servants, high-ranking officials, and attempting to take the lives of the concubines. What could this be? A curse? Or treason?
