After many years of wandering, you have finally found a new refuge called "Absolute." However, you still need to fight for the wealth and technology of this new world. Lead one of six nations and conquer the right to the...
throne. It's time to embark on distant worlds and demonstrate your ambitions in space!
In the board game "Ambitions of the Cosmos" for 2-4 players, opponents strive to achieve one of four victory objectives:
- Capture the opponent's capital planet - Acquire 30 units of capital - Deploy 8 senators in the galactic council - Announce the construction of level five technologies
To achieve this, players explore the expanses of space, engage in battles, and participate in political debates. A game round lasts until one of the four victory conditions is met or for 15 turns, each of which is divided into 4 phases:
In the political phase, players receive prestige from their planets and technologies. Then the speaker selects a law for voting; afterward, opponents use their resources, promises, and prestige to propose a new senator. Remember, the player who deploys 8 of their senators in the council wins. When the elections take place, players use the number of their senators to vote "for" or "against" the new law Next is the building phase, during which players calculate the capital they've gained – a resource used to build new ships and buildings. Ships make up the player's naval fleet – a few cards displayed as a token on the game board. Fleets are built and replenished within the radius of the planet's shipyard. To build a building, place its card under the planet's card. Buildings can be upgraded, granting increasingly useful bonuses to their owner Then comes the tactical phase, where players explore space and fight. During exploration, fleets move across normal and special cells of the board. For example, a nebula slows the player's fleet down. In a Black Hole, ships can be lost, scientific discoveries can be made, or movement to any cell on the board can occur, and in a Supernova zone, the player's fleet is immediately destroyed. A player can discover a new sector of the board by spending one point of fleet speed. The new area can be placed with any side facing up and filled with anomaly signal tokens. In a zone with such a token, the player will face unpredictable events In the quest for supremacy, battles are unavoidable. They occur when encountering an enemy fleet, pirates, or a fearsome machine. Before the battle begins, players inspect the cards in the opposing fleet and form combat decks by arranging their ships in a desired order. After this, opponents simultaneously reveal one top card at a time, roll dice, and compare the total strength of their ships. After all cards have been played, the total power of the surviving ships is counted. The player with the higher total wins
Who will be more calculating and agile? Who will divert attention from their resource mines or prove to be a more cunning politician? What is stronger – science or war? Your "Ambitions of the Cosmos" will reveal this!
