The Smile of the Sun and the Moon. Commentary on the Prayer-Worship of the Twenty-One Taras

Tara, the mother of all Buddhas, manifests in twenty-one forms so swiftly, in order to protect living beings from all fears, eliminate vices, relieve from suffering and diseases, increase life force, merits, and wealth, help to overcome obscured perception and defeat enemies - the five poisons, the harmful emotions of our mind.

Glorification of the twenty-one Taras creates a connection between the one performing it and the awakened activity of Tara. In Tibet, this glorification was memorized and read by almost everyone, regardless of school and tradition.
In this book, Khenchen Palden Sherab Rinpoche examines the Glorification of the Twenty-One Taras in light of the teachings of the term cycle of Longchen Nyingthig. Four levels of meaning are presented here - external, internal, secret, and absolute, explained according to Prajnaparamita, Maha-, Anu-, and Atiyoga.

Being a deep and direct instruction from the teacher, this commentary helps to see the essence of the noble lady Tara, the eternally awakened state, as our own true nature.
