The Eastern bazaar is a wonderful place. Hundreds of merchants shout over one another in hopes of attracting the attention of potential buyers. Each one has the best product and the lowest prices, at least in words... You will need...
to show your economic skill and sell your most beautiful, finest, best carpets in all of Morocco.
Up to four players rent the market in the square of Marrakech. There is little space, but plenty of goods. The market owner Assama will monitor the order, who will take turns laying out the players' carpets in the trading area. Try to convince him to cover your opponent's goods with your carpet, because in the end, buyers will only buy what is on top. Be careful - if, acting on your command, Assama stops on an opponent's carpet, you will have to pay your opponent a penalty for the unmarketable appearance.
At the beginning of the game, the Assama piece is placed in the center of the board - the market of Marrakech. After the players have divided the starting capital (carpets and money), they take turns making their moves. A player's turn consists of three actions: moving Assama, paying the opponent (if required), and laying down their carpet. Let's look at each action in detail.
Before moving Assama, the player determines the direction in which he will move. Here the player has the right to keep Assama's direction the same, or turn him to the right or left by 90 degrees. Turning Assama by 180 degrees is prohibited. The player then rolls the dice, which shows how many spaces Assama must move. If Assama reaches the edge of the game board, he turns in the direction indicated by the arrow on the board.
If at the end of his movement Assama stops on an opponent's carpet, the player making the move must pay the carpet owner for it. The amount of the payment is determined by the number of spaces covered by carpets of the same color and connected to the space where Assama stopped. Each space is worth 1 Dirham.
At the end of his turn, the player lays down his carpet on spaces adjacent to Assama. The carpet can be placed on two free spaces, on one free space and the half of any carpet, or on two halves of different carpets. You cannot cover an entire opponent's carpet with your carpet.
When the last carpet is laid down, the game ends, and scoring begins. For each visible half carpet on the board and each Dirham, the player gets 1 point. The winner in "Marrakech" is the player who scores the most points.
Remember, trading carpets is serious business! Show ingenuity, tactical skills, and spatial thinking, and then you will become the best merchant!
