«Leviathan» — this is the third book by Boris Akunin about the adventures of Erast Fandorin.
In a fashionable district of Paris, British collector Lord Littleby and all the staff of the mansion are brutally murdered. 
From the renowned collection of Eastern... rarities, a unique gold figurine of the Indian god Shiva and one of the painted Indian shawls are stolen. 
The case is investigated by detective Gustave Gosh from the Paris prefecture. In the hand of the deceased, he discovers the emblem of a golden whale.
As it turns out, this emblem belongs to the miracle ship "Leviathan," which is about to embark on its maiden voyage to India.
All first-class passengers were given such a golden whale along with their ticket.
But who among them could commit such a terrible crime?
Five people are suspected, all of whom are missing the golden whale. Among them is also Erast Fandorin.
