Metaphorical associative cards "Subpersonalities"
This is a universal tool that can be used to:
- Explore relationships with oneself, others, and the world.
- Find solutions in any area of life (work, finances, health, self-worth, daily life, personal relationships, society, self-realization, self-development, rest,...
etc.).
Working with subpersonalities is one of the most effective and profound approaches.
“Subpersonalities” are parts of a person's personality, different facets and roles. Each of us has our own "inner team", our own "world of subpersonalities".
Considering personality from this perspective allows for understanding the multifaceted nature of personality, deeply knowing it, becoming whole, and achieving harmony with oneself, others, and life.
Each subpersonality reflects different aspects of personality. It is unique, with its own values, motives, needs, desires, beliefs, feelings, behavior strategies, habits, and “character”.
For example, a person may have a "child subpersonality", which manifests in playfulness, naivety, and spontaneity, and an "adult subpersonality", characterized by responsibility, rationality, and self-control.
The M.A.C. “Subpersonalities” allows for the exploration of:
Emotions and states - These are signals that something requires attention; each emotion carries a message reflecting what need is important to satisfy.
Beliefs - Internal settings, thought patterns that a person believes as truth, a generalization of life experience, one’s own “worldview”. Based on it, a person makes decisions, acts, thinks, and reacts.
Values – Reflect a person’s worldview, their priorities and meanings, what is important not to betray. They are the foundation of motivation.
Needs - What a person requires. To feel satisfied with life and health, they need to be fulfilled.
Desires – The driving force of the soul; as long as there are true, personal desires, there is life.
Qualities and skills – Abilities, character traits, skills.
Wisdom: Inner knowledge, common sense, action from a state of calmness and love, awareness, balance.
Resources – This is strength, energy, states, potential, opportunities.
Subpersonalities arise in the course of a person's life, connected with experience, role repertoire, strong emotions, traumas, scripts, fears, desires, needs, the environment, and other factors.
The attitude toward subpersonalities can be positive or negative; some are acknowledged by a person, while others are denied and suppressed. In reality, there are no bad subpersonalities. If they exist, they are necessary for something, perform an important function for us, protect us from something, or seek to satisfy some need of ours.
In different areas of life, different parts of personality are activated. Some become dominant, while others fade into the background. It is important to acknowledge and constructively express the shadow parts of one’s personality.
Subpersonalities can interact with each other and influence a person. If some of them “argue”, an internal conflict, contradiction, or dissatisfaction may arise.
