You are holding an anthology of pedagogical repertoire for students of grade 1 in children's music school. The compilation of this collection has been prompted by the necessity to have on hand, in one textbook, a sufficient amount of musical... and pedagogical material for teaching a child to play the piano throughout the year. The anthology includes pieces from many previously published training manuals, allowing to address the challenges of this period of learning. In accordance with the program requirements of DMS and DSHI, the anthology contains works representing the following sections: polyphony, large form, pieces, etudes, and ensembles. The extensive artistic and instructional material allows for the selection of a sufficient number of pieces to acquire and consolidate knowledge and skills, taking into account the individual capabilities of the student. Due to the characteristics of the initial learning period, the material is not divided into sections but is presented according to the principle of gradual complexity. The entire selection and systematization of works reflect well-known pedagogical principles and equally represent the result of many years of experience working with children by the compiler authors.
