Sasha Chorny (Alexander Mikhailovich Glikberg, 1880-1932) - a Russian poet of the Silver Age, prose writer, and journalist. The Glikberg family had 5 children, two of whom had the same name Sasha. Since one was a brunette and the other... a blonde, their childhood family nicknames were Black and White. This is how the literary pseudonym of the future writer appeared. Sasha Chorny ran away from home at the age of 15. Initially, he was taken in by his aunt on his father's side, who brought him with her to Saint Petersburg, where the boy continued his studies at a gymnasium. However, he was soon expelled, his family turned away from him, and Sasha Chorny became a beggar, asking for alms on the streets. The difficult fate of the teenager caught the attention of journalist Alexander Yablonsky, and in 1898, one of the largest Petersburg newspapers "Son Otechestva" published his report about Sasha Chorny. This story deeply moved the Zhytomyr official K.K. Roshe, and he took the boy in for upbringing. Zhytomyr became the second homeland of the future writer, and Sasha Chorny regarded Konstantin Konstantinovich Roshe as his godfather. The first poem by Sasha Chorny was printed in 1904 in the Zhytomyr newspaper "Volynsky Vestnik." A year later, he moved to Saint Petersburg, where he collaborated with many literary publications. The poems of Sasha Chorny became very popular; according to the memories of Korney Chukovsky, "...upon receiving a fresh issue of a magazine, the reader first of all looked for the poems of Sasha Chorny." After the October Revolution of 1917, the writer emigrated from Russia. He worked a lot and productively, and children's literature ("Mickey the Fox's Diary," "Serious Stories," "Cat's Sanatorium," etc.) took a significant place in his work. "Mickey the Fox's Diary" is considered one of the best works of Sasha Chorny's emigration period. It is an amazing "dog memoir," in which Fox Mickey shares his observations about his life and the lives of people. The text of the work is presented with reductions.
