The Flying Ship. Folk Tales

A fairy tale can teach and entertain, soothe and puzzle, amuse and frighten. Fairy tales introduce children to eternal truths and help them grow up, provide models of behavior, and teach them to believe that good deeds are rewarded while... evil and greed will receive their due. Fairy tales are essential for the development of a healthy personality - it is not surprising that they are included in all school reading programs approved by the Ministry of Education of the Russian Federation.
Many poets and writers, ethnographers and folklorists have turned to the fairy tale as a genre. This collection includes only folk works processed by A. N. Tolstoy and A. N. Afanasyev - an ethnographer-researcher who carefully gathered and preserved for future generations several hundred fairy tales created by Slavic peoples.
In the collection "The Flying Ship," we included 7 diverse, yet equally beloved fairy tales by young readers. Their heroes are the brave Ivan Tsarevich and the reckless fool; the hardworking Vasilisa the Beautiful and the evil witch; the sweet, kind Kroshechka-Khavroshechka and the treacherous Baba Yaga.
Each fairy tale has a happy ending - how could it be otherwise! The world can be cruel, but good always triumphs; we are together, and we are loved.
