Anton Pavlovich Chekhov (1860-1904) - a Russian writer and playwright, known worldwide. The future writer was born in Taganrog into a merchant family and from a young age helped his father in his shop. In 1884, A.P. Chekhov graduated from... the medical faculty of Moscow University and began practicing medicine. He started writing while still a student - in 1880, his story and humorous piece were published in the magazine "Dragonfly". Since then, he consistently wrote short humorous stories under various pseudonyms, the most popular of which was Antosha Chekhonte. In 1890, A.P. Chekhov traveled to Sakhalin, considered an island of tsarist penal servitude and exile, to study the history and life of convicts. In 1896, the writer completed his first play "Uncle Vanya," which made a breakthrough in the dramaturgy of that time. Over 25 years of creativity, A.P. Chekhov created more than 300 different works, many of which have become classics of world literature. In A.P. Chekhov's stories, something significant almost never happens. The author pays special attention to details, speech, and the description of the characters' everyday lives, and through these detailed descriptions, he shows us the inner world of the heroes, reflecting on their fates. At the same time, the writer never imposes his point of view on the readers. "The White-headed" (1895) is the only story by A.P. Chekhov written specifically for children. The main characters of this story are animals, and all the events are "seen" by the reader through the eyes of the she-wolf or the White-headed one. With the help of this technique, the author reveals the psychology of animals. The poetic mastery of the writer makes animals no less rational and human than people. For younger school age. The text of the works is presented without cuts.
