"Demiurge" – is a legacy-style adventure board game in which you will play as demigods observing the conflict between two pantheons of deities: the Scandinavian and the Greek. The conflict arises due to the invasion of Scandinavian gods into Greece,...
who seek to conquer new lands. To survive in this challenging world and achieve the coveted immortality, you will fight for the favor of the deities from both pantheons and fulfill their tasks.
You will face an incredible campaign consisting of 12 scenarios, during which the game will change infinitely: new rules and components will be added, and the initially available ones will alter their properties. After the campaign, an endless mode will become available, allowing you to play any scenarios with any gods and tasks, competing for points of grace. With the "Demiurge: Reload Kit" expansion, you will be able to start the campaign from the beginning and write a new story for your heroes!
How to play?
The game lasts several rounds, during which you will build a map and complete various tasks of the current scenario. On the game board, 12 random terrain squares are laid out from a common stack, and you receive a demigod box with dice: roll them and place them in front of you showing their rolled values – these are the values you will use.
Your primary action will be to explore the lands to create your own map of the world: each cell of the game board with terrain squares is assigned a value from 1 to 12. To claim a square and add it to your map, you use and spend your demigod's dice, adding or subtracting their values to match the value shown on the cell.
The used dice remain on the game board. Exploring lands is an exhausting task, so sooner or later you will run out of dice and will have to resort to another primary action – resting. Gather all your dice, roll them, and place them in front of you showing their rolled values again. Now these are the values available to you.
The terrain squares can include from 2 to 3 types of landscapes: plain, sea, and mountain. The first square can be placed on your map in any way, but each subsequent one must connect at least one side to one of the previously placed squares and must match the landscape type.
At the beginning of each scenario, task cards are revealed, the completion of which brings points of grace for the indicated pantheon. Tasks are announced loudly, making them available to all. This means that the fastest demigod will earn the points of grace.
With the digital application, you will receive information throughout the scenario, scan locations, mark tasks completion, receive instructions for introducing new stickers into the game, and keep track of each player's points of grace. Is this not divine intervention?
Who won?
The game ends when one of the players has fully created their map. However, if all players have performed rest for 2 turns in a row, the game ends immediately. Each player who has completed their map earns 1 point of collective grace. Additionally, players receive points of grace from a specific pantheon if they performed the deity's task better than the others. A detailed tally is kept in the application. The demigod with the most points becomes the winner of the game. However, points of grace accumulate after each game, meaning that the true champion and the new immortal god will only be known after all 12 scenarios are completed. Good luck!
Note! The free digital application Divinus must be installed to play.
