"Bears and Babies" – a light and funny card game where you will collect cardboard bears and other monsters to then compete against an army of babies. Let your imagination run wild and create creatures like the world has never seen before! But don't forget about the strategic component, as your "soldiers" must not only be absurd and funny but also strong – only then can you outsmart the mischievous babies.
How to play?
The main mechanic is to draw cards from a deck (or rather, three decks). All the encountered babies must be sent to the baby army slot on the game board, where they will lie and wait for their moment until you decide to challenge them. Your main goal is to "stitch" monsters, each individual part (for example, a torso) brings a certain unit of power. Therefore, try to collect complex and large creatures to increase their destructiveness.
In one turn, you can perform two actions. An action can either be playing a card or drawing a card. And playing a card includes both assembling a monster and placing a baby card on the game board – even if you don't plan to wake it up. By the way, waking them up is very easy: just shout, "Get up!" and choose which army will awaken from its slumber.
Babies and monsters are divided by elements: they can be terrestrial, aquatic, and aerial. Accordingly, aquatic monsters battle aquatic babies, and aerial ones battle aerial babies. All bears come out to battle the babies regardless of who decided to wake them up. However, victory points equal to the baby power are only awarded to the player whose army of monsters proves to be stronger and survives this encounter. Therefore, waking up babies can be very strategically advantageous – for instance, to eliminate your opponents' "soldiers".
The game lasts until all three decks run out of cards. After this, scoring begins.
Who won?
The player who has accumulated the most victory points wins, meaning the one who has collected the most baby cards by the end of the game. Congratulations, you have tamed the little ones!
