Slavic paganism is a huge layer of culture, and interest in it has been growing recently. In the Russian people, despite all the cataclysms and various changes in the social and political situation, an ancient custom and ancient faith are... deeply embedded at the genetic level. The book is based on the research of ethnographers and historians - Slavists of the 19th and 20th centuries and describes the folk calendar, folk holidays, and rituals of the Slavic peoples (mainly Russians, Ukrainians, and Belarusians). Based on the available data, the dates of holidays are indicated according to the modern calendar, based on the similarity of rituals, and the kinship of brotherly peoples and cultures is shown.
The book is aimed at people interested in Slavic history, the folk calendar, and related holidays, signs, and rituals, illustrated with paintings by masters of painting from the 19th - early 20th centuries.
