The Boy in the Tram

Poet Osip Emilievich Mandelstam left behind not only serious and complex lyrical works but also light, transparent poems for children. In 1925-1926, four books of his children's poems were published - "Primus", "Two Trams", "Balls", and "Kitchen".
The world of Mandelstam's... children's poetry is woven from thousands of nuances. The poet shares with children his love for life, where every detail can become a source of joy and inspiration.
In the early 1990s, the publishing house "Malish" planned to publish a book "The Boy in the Tram" with illustrations by Evgeny Grigoryevich Monin. Unfortunately, the book was not published at that time. And only now, Osip Mandelstam's children's poems with the remarkable illustrations by Evgeny Monin are coming to children and adults for the first time, taking them into an unusual world where talking trams, balloons, irons, samovars, and flying fish live.
