Daisy Miller

Henry James (1843-1916) - an American and English writer, a prominent figure in transatlantic culture at the turn of the 19th and 20th centuries. Throughout his work, the theme of immediacy and naivety of representatives of the New World runs through, who are forced to adapt or challenge the intellectuality and cunning of the decaying Old World.
A young American, Winterbourne, who has lived in Europe for many years and has managed to unlearn American manners, arrives in a small Swiss town, Vevey. At the hotel, he accidentally meets wealthy Americans - Mrs. Miller and her children, a nine-year-old boy and his older sister. The girl - Daisy Miller - captivates Winterbourne with her beauty, as well as her free and easy behavior, which is not customary in Europe…
