The Front Kronstadt (Nikolaev) range lighthouse is the brother of the currently abandoned Lower Nikolaev range lighthouse. Established in 1857, the current all-metal tower was manufactured at the San-Galli factory in St. Petersburg and installed at Fort Kronshlot in 1891....
Initially serving as the rear range, after the construction of the Rear Kronstadt range lighthouse in 1915, it continues to function as the front range and ensures entry from the sea to the Great Kronstadt raid to this day.
