Children of the Crow

The childhood of Shurka and Tanya fell during the era of Stalinist terror, the wartime and postwar years. This dark period in the history of our country is depicted in the fairy tale novel "Children of the Crow" — the first of five "Leningrad Tales" by Yulia Yakovleva.

For some reason, dad left for a business trip at night, and a few days later, mom and the younger brother disappeared without a trace, leaving Shurka and Tanya alone. "The Crow took them away" — everyone whispers around. But who is this Crow and who will show the way to him? Crossing the border between the city of the Crow and an ordinary city is as easy as pie — but only one way. Only by realizing that the Crow in Leningrad in 1938 is everywhere will the fearless Shurka be able to rise against his gray kingdom.
