The famous Chinese dystopia Notes on the Cat City. This prophetic book was written in the 1930s by Lao She, a Chinese writer, playwright, and satirist. His real name is Shu Qingchun, and the pseudonym Lao She plays on the... name: old man She. His Martian chronicles with cat-people serve as a satirical mirror of Chinese society during the civil war.
In the introduction, Lao She wrote: cat-people are not related to us. The author, with unique artistic intuition, describes the sunset of an entire civilization. Will we recognize in the Martian cat-people the modern inhabitants of Earth?..
