The book includes three very different stories from one of the best short story writers of the 20th century. However, there is something that unites them: an infinitely diverse theme of the relationships between men and women - and a... slightly ironic, but at the same time deeply involved perspective of the author, who sensitively feels the slightest movements of the human soul.
The stories are adapted using Ilya Frank's method: they are accompanied by a literal translation into Russian and necessary lexical-grammatical commentary (without simplifying the original text). The uniqueness of the method lies in the fact that memorization of words and expressions occurs through their repetitiveness, without rote learning and the need to use a dictionary. In addition, the reader becomes accustomed to the logic of the English language, starting to "feel" it.
