Jacob's Ladder

The book includes three very different stories from one of the best short story writers of the 20th century. However, there is something that unites them: an endlessly diverse theme of relationships between men and women - and a slightly... ironic, yet deeply involved perspective of the author, who is finely attuned to the slightest movements of the human soul.
The stories are adapted using Ilya Frank's method: they include a literal translation into Russian and necessary lexical-grammatical commentary (without simplifying the original text). The uniqueness of the method lies in the fact that memorization of words and phrases occurs through their repetitiveness, without cramming and the need to use a dictionary. Additionally, the reader becomes accustomed to the logic of the English language, begins to "feel" it.
